Facial Cleansing OIlsMarch 09, 2007I am in love. For real! Move over hubby, you've been replaced!Ok, maybe I'm not THAT in love, but I did just recently discover a product that has my skin singing and my heart all aflutter. Facial Cleansing Oils! If you're like me and living in a cave, then you might also have never used such a product before. I was fortunate enough to receive some as a gift right about the same time I purchased some elsewhere. Two glorious products that are uniquely different yet quite similar. Delicious stuff here! Squeaky Queen Facial Cleansing Oil, 2 oz - $6.00: I can't promise that this product will work for everybody, but I can say that I use it every day, and not only has it made my skin noticeably softer and smoother, but if I skip a day and cleanse with soap instead I can definitely tell a difference. I've opted to forego fancy packaging on this item in order to keep the cost down so everybody can try it. I hope you like it as much as I do! This is the oil I received first. The scent is incredible. Warm, soothing, heady. Indescribably delicious. But that is nothing compared to the actual product itself. I rather hestitantly poured a small amount into my palm and then began to rub it over my face a bit gingerly. I was immediately struck with how thick and rich this felt. I know that oil is by nature oily (derrr), but this was somehow more thick and viscous than I'd expected. My hesitation quickly turned to delight and I spent the next 2 minutes gently rubbing this elixir over my entire face.. eyelids, lips and all. I then gently dabbed the excess off with a hot washcloth. I felt as though I'd had a facial at my favorite spa. Relaxed, cleansed, very zen. I was not left with the usual tightness associated with cleansing the face. I needed no extra moisturizer but was able to take my happy face and head immediately to bed where I continued to receive wafts of the yummy scents as I drifted off to sleep. What a glorious way to fall asleep! The following morning my skin was refreshed, smooth, and quite surprisingly, NON-oily. In fact, it was in better shape for my daily morning perusal than I'd experienced in years. Awesome! The scent is heavy with rose and something else I can't pin down. It immediately brough to mind a gypsy woman in her caravan with heavy tapestries adorning the walls, incense burning in the corner, and the gentle tinkle of a small wind chime. Somewhat earthy and yet somehow a bit mystical. A truly enchanting scent. I LOVE this oil and will undoubtedly be ordering again in the near future! The price is cheap, in my opinion, and worth double what she charges. If you've not yet tried a facial cleansing oil, you simply must try Squeaky Queen's version! DayBreak Lavender Farm By-U 4-U Healing Facial Oil Cleanser, 6 oz - $19.95: True story ... a group on our Forum wanted an oil cleanser. And they guided the creation of our newest introduction ... a facial cleansing oil. So, what else could I call it except By-U, 4-U!! This nourishing blend hydrates and cleanses the skin with essential fatty acids Omega 3 and Omega 6 as well as protective vitamins and antioxidants. We begin with DayBreak's exclusive 3-C Botanical Infusion along with Rosehip Seed Oil, Hazelnut Oil, Olive-derived Squalane, Vitamin E, a wetting agent all in DayBreak's Paraben-free Preservative System. By-U, 4-U will cleanse your complexion and more .... It will replenish, soothe and revitalize the skin, leaving it soft and supple. How ironic that just 2 short days after I received my Squeaky Queen products I received a bottle of this oil! My mom had ordered some for herself and was so immediately taken with it that she had to go and order a bottle for me. Thanks Mom! I was a bit concerned at first - another rose scented/based Facial Oil. Hmm... well, when one bottle is gone, I could use the other. They are basically the same thing. Not! DayBreak's version is so radically different than SQ's it's like a completely different product! This oil is much lighter and immediately reminded me of a spring day. Airy, light, happy. A rose garden in full bloom on a glorious spring day. Very refreshing. And how does it cleanse? Perfectly amazing! I used this the same way as the previous oil. Dry skin with my makeup on and gentle rubbing over my entire face, again eyes and lips included. My skin was positively glowing when I finished. Soft, supple and glowing. Again I drifted off to sleep with the gentle aroma of roses. And awaking the next morning I found that once again, my skin was fresh and clean feeling and looking. No oil slicks, no dry spots. Just young looking skin and a fresh looking face. DayBreak's oil cleanser is lighter feeling and seems to absorb a bit more. When I went to wipe it off, there wasn't much to remove. I was concerned that this would give me an oily face the next day but as I said above, it was definitely not an issue. It's amazing that these two products that are so similar in nature and ingredients can be so different. Each cleanser will suit the various moods I have to a T. And I admit that I'm a bit addicted now - it's all I can do to keep from using each one daily. I am now in love! Truly. Madly. Deeply! DayBreak's oil is a bit larger than Squeaky Queen's but is again very cheaply priced. Compared to the junk one can purchase at a local beauty supply store, this stuff is like liquid gold and worth every penny, even at double the price! And here is something so cool... I have a bar of this DIVINE stuff - Damask Rose Kaolin Clay Masque Bar (I should review this - it's incredible!) AND a bottle of this heavenly elixir - Rose Petal Toner so I took a small amount of my Facial Oil and mixed it with a small piece of the bar and a small bit of the Rose Petal Toner to create the ultimate, decadent, delicious mask imaginable. My skin was practically singing with rapture. I would pay many dollars for a facial that consisted of a masque that smelled and felt like my custom masque did. Divine! If you've not tried Facial Cleansing Oil before you simply cannot go wrong with either of these. Now is the time to think about yourself and the pampering you surely deserve!
