A trip to River CountyJune 28, 2007![]() A few weekends ago we took the train from the Seattle area down to Vancouver, WA for a mini-getaway. I'd never ridden the train before (that I can recall) so it was a very exciting and romantic trip. I had such a yearning to immediately fly to Europe and ride the train for weeks. Dreamy sigh. But, that is not the point of this entry. I'm here to discuss some fabulous products I found while browsing an adorable Farmer's Market in Vancouver before we caught the train to come home. In the midst of jewelry, fresh fruits and veggies, and an array of foods that were just begging to be eaten sat a white tent filled with all sorts of yummy-selling products. Being a B&B addict, of course I had to step in and boy, am I glad I did! There I met Robin Herz, owner and purveyor of everything bath and body and deliciously scented with every imaginable scent under the sun. I purchased a bit of everything and was quite excited to get home and spread them out on the bed. While I am loving everything I bought, I'm going to focus this post on her incredible Shea Butter & Goatmilk Lotion and the thick and luscious Natural Body Wash. The lotion scent I chose was Pina Smoothie. Yum. Yum. YUM. Sweet, light, definite tropical holiday overtones to this. Think summer vacation on a hot, sunny beach and you'll be where I flew to once I took one whiff of this heavenly concoction. But the scent is just one of the selling points of this lotion. I've posted before how I don't care for watery, oily, greasy feeling lotions. This one is a dream. Soaks right in and leaves hands feeling soft and silky for hours. The bottle I purchased isn't that large, just 4 ounces, but this should last me a very long time. A little goes a long way and since it has staying power, it makes this lotion a winner in my mind! I also purchased a bottle of her thick and delish Body Wash. Keeping in mind that Robin makes each batch of this by hand, I expected it to be slightly runny (as has been my experience with most other handmade body washes) or low lathering. Nothing like that here! Not only is the wash thick and rich, it also creates huge lather than just flows out of my pouf and onto the shower floor. Delectable! What makes this even better is the lack of SLS and other lather enhancing ingredients. You're left with just the good stuff. And a shower full of thick, white bubbles. My skin is left feeling clean without feeling stripped or dry. All told, this is one awesome wash and I'll definitely be back for more! If you're in the Vancouver, WA area on Fridays and Saturdays, be sure to check out the Farmer's Market at Esther Short Park. While you're there, make certain you swing by Robin's tent and pick up some of her fab products!
