Shea Butter Soap

Danielle and Company Shea Butter Soap

Danielle and Company Shea Butter Soap: Each bar of Shea Butter Soap has been personally developed by Danielle and we only use the finest ingredients that nature has to offer. We test our soap on soap lovers, not animals, and do not use animal by-products. The soap is 100% vegetable-based, consisting of coconut oil, palm oil, castor oil, safflower oil, kosher vegetable glycerin, shea butter and other enhancing ingredients.

I'm so in love with these soaps, it's not funny. In fact, perhaps I should abandon this review and focus on writing "My Ode to an AWESOME soap." On second thought, no. I probably shouldn't.

But these bars of soap - wow! First of all, I LOVE the logo, label, wrapping, shape and presentation of the soap. These look like something you'd find in a high end gift shop. The logo is striking and instantly memorable. A perfect combination. The label manages to be cute and upscale at the same time. The design used catches your eye and if I saw these in a store, I would be drawn to pick them up and take a sniff and a closer look.

The shape of the bar is unique and makes for easier use. I've not really been a fan of squared soap - it's hard to get that thing rolling in your hands to create lather. Not this bar. It's curved and rolls easily and freely. Lathers immediately into a creamy, thick, luscious lather. Delicious doesn't begin to describe it! My hands are left feeling moisturized and smooth. No drying or tightening of the skin.

Then there is the scent. Nothing chemical smelling about this. Just a pure and intense aroma that makes me want to lather and lather and lather. My favorite by far is Lavender and Spearmint. What a combination. (swoon) I find myself picking up the bar when I go into the bathroom - just to sniff it. Ahh. Sniff sniff. Delicious!

I'm not one to gift soap to others. While we only use handmade soap here in my house and I do enjoy making sure others in my circle of friends and family enjoy it as well, I've not really felt the need to gift bars more than just a few times. Not anymore. Everyone of my family will be receiving Mini Soap-to-Go bars this Christmas. These little guys make the perfect stocking stuffer!

But even better than the mini bars are the Gift Sets offered! Pictured above is one such set. Just looking at this makes me want to buy it RIGHT NOW. What a great gift for Dad! Or mom! Or anyone else you care about!

I just can't say enough great things about this soap. So I'll end by stating this - from now on out, any visitor to my house will find at least one bar of Danielle and Company Shea Butter Soap in the guest bathroom for guest use. As well as in my own bathroom.

Danielle and Company Shea Butter Soaps are 6 ounces and will run you $6.00. A most excellent deal!

Shaving Cream

November 06, 2006

Luv4Country Shaving Cream

Luv4Country Shaving Cream: A traditional whipped shaving cream full of goodness and scented with notes of Cedar, Tonka Bean, Benzoin, Vetiver and Black Pepper. Middle notes include Vanilla Absolute, Myrrh and Sweetgrass, and topped with Turkish Rose, Italian Bergamot, and a hint of Cardamom and Nutmeg. Wonderful for men and women who appreciate a luxurious traditional shave, this shaving cream gives the closest, smoothest shave around.

I was sent a jar of this yummy cream to review. After being misplaced, left in a hot car to melt, and then left in a hotel room and never again found - I ordered another jar and was finally able to complete my review!

This product just screamed out for a shaving brush to whip it into a luxurious cream. I don't own one of these. My husband is strictly a "shaving cream from the can" type of guy so he was no help. But my dad has used a brush for my entire life and as I was heading to my parent's home for a mini-vacation anyway, I decided to let him test it out.

I handed it off to him with instructions to use it for a week and report back. Of course the report was great or you wouldn't be reading this!

He's been using Crabtree & Evelyn's Shave Soap for quite some time and is pretty enamored of it. So, when he reported back that Luv4Country's Shave Cream was as good as C&E, I knew that this was a winner.

He liked the container as it is small enough to fit into his spit bag and yet large enough to provide several weeks (or more) worth of shaving cream. The scent he found to be pleasing... not too much, not too little. Just the right amount of scent to enhance the shaving experience.

This shaving cream provided a smooth glide for his razor and was a comparable experience to using C&E's product. He thought the texture was excellent and that it gave a nice glide for his razor. It was easy on his skin and overall he said that he really enjoyed it and would definitely purchase it again.

So there you have it. A handmade shaving cream that even my dad likes - and trust me, that says alot. Dad is a gourmet aficionado of sorts and won't use just *any* old shaving cream. After hearing the things he had to say about it, I wished I'd had shaving brush of my own so I could try it out! I did swoon over the scent - incredible. Delicious!

Luv4Country Shaving Cream is $10.00 for a 4 ounce jar. Definitely a great deal! And an excellent stocking stuffer for Dad (or husband)!
